Celebrating Native American Heritage Month

This week, our classes learned about the gift of maize from the Native Americans. We conducted a popcorn experiment with native-colored corn and made popcorn and cornbread. We shucked corn on the cob and measured ourselves with a tall, dried cornstalk. Our freshly shucked corn was sent home for the students to cook and taste with their families. We also made corn art practicing our scissor skills.
