In Ms. Lee‘s Young 4’s class, the children listened to The Color Monster by Anna Llenas. This is a story about emotions. The sensory table was filled with pom poms and bottles with the different color monsters. The children used tongs to pick up the pom poms and place them in the corresponding colored monster bottles. This fun activity targeted the skills of color identification, sorting, and fine motor hand strength. The day finished with creating their own color monster and describing the monster’s emotions.
