The beauty of winter

The Co-op has been busy celebrating the beauty of winter. We have been making snowmen, snowflakes, and polar bears in art. Our muscle room has been transformed into an ice skating rink. We added ice fishing, snowballs, and a hot chocolate stand.

We are learning about the animals of the arctic. How does blubber keep the polar bear warm? We put on a “blubber mitten” and plunged our hand in ice water along with our unprotected hand. We quickly found out that our hand in the blubber mitten stayed warm, while our unprotected hand was very cold.
