Our oldest classes visited Central Market. Each pair of students brought their list of vegetables for making our soup. The employees gave the students a tour of the various food sections as they checked off items on their I Spy sheets. The stop at the fish counter was the best surprise when they saw an octopus and a live lobster.

Upstairs, they were welcomed for a hands-on experience to make a turkey fruit plate. With the shopping lists complete, the students checked out with their money and returned to school to prepare the soup. The taste test brought mixed reviews—the soup was not a hit with everyone, but we did have many who enjoyed it!
