The Northaven Hedgehogs went to meet the librarian at the Preston Royal Library. We prepared for our trip by reading the books pictured below. We have been learning about the parts of a book—the book jacket, the endpapers, the spine, the author, and the illustrator. The students enjoyed meeting our community helper and making their very own bookmark.

Our beloved former director and teacher stopped by and brought a book she had checked out for the children titled In the Wild, written by Zadie Smith and Nick Laird. It is a story about Maud, a judo-suit-wearing guinea pig, with her owner Kit, going into the great outdoors and making new friends, of which one is a hedgehog.
