Faculty & Staff

Kathy Delsanter

FOUR & FIVE YEAR OLDS, Educational Director

Kathy has a B.A. in psychology and an M.S. in child development from Cornell University, where she held a teaching assistantship in the Cornell Laboratory Nursery School.  She received her Ph.D. from East Texas State University in early childhood education.  She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Delta Kappa.  She taught nursery school in New York and day care children in Connecticut.  Kathy has been on the adjunct Child Development faculty at Brookhaven College.  She has taught at the Co-op since 1973, and served as Director from 1974 to 2015.  She has two grown children.

 

Patty Mallard

YOUNG FOUR YEAR OLDS

Patty has her Bachelor of Fine Arts from S.M.U. with a major in art education and certification in art, elementary, and early childhood education.  She has taught first and third grades, and art in Texas public schools.  She began teaching the Young Fours in 1994.  Patty teaches art classes for preschool through elementary ages.  She has two grown children and is a former Co-op parent. 

 

Suzanne Hoffman

THREE & FOUR YEAR OLDS

Suzanne has attended college in Illinois.  She was a Co-op parent for her two daughters and began teaching at the Co-op in 1994.  She has served as Board President, along with numerous other positions.  Suzanne has taken early childhood education courses at Brookhaven College.

 

Nicole Wellington

YOUNG THREE YEAR OLDS

Nicole holds a B.A. in psychology from St. Mary’s University, and has a teaching certificate in Texas.  She is currently working toward an M.S. in counseling and development at Texas Woman’s University.   Over the last five years she has worked in independent schools teaching kindergarten and 2nd grade.  She began working at the Co-op in the fall of 2017.

 

Lorita Scheffler

TWO & THREE YEAR OLDS

Lorita has an elementary/early childhood degree from St. Cloud State University.  She has previously taught preschool and worked privately as a nanny for several families.  She has assisted Patty Mallard in her Art and Clay programs for the last five years, and joined the Co-op  staff as a teacher in the fall of 2017.

 

Carole Watters

TWO & THREE YEAR OLDS, YOUNG TWO YEAR OLDS

Carole has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Charleston in West Virginia.  She has taught toddlers and preschool children, Kindermusik, and young children in Gymboree franchises where she has been an owner and director.  She began teaching at the Co-op in 2008.  She has two adult children and three grandchildren. 

 

Lesley Mears

Office Coordinator

Lesley is a former co-op parent and school board member. Both her son and daughter attended the co-op and with her in-depth kowledge of the school, she helps with daily operations.

 

Vicki Morgan

Administrative Director

Vicki has a BA with departmental distinction in anthropology from SMU. She taught kindergarten for ten years and preschool in several private schools, including our Co-op. Vicki has five children and four grandchildren.
