Executive Committee: President, Past President, President Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and Personnel.
President - Conducts business of the Co-op Board and coordinates duties of members; votes in case of a tie.
Past President - Assists the President, serves on Board Development Committee; does not vote.
President Elect - Assists the President, serves on Board Development Committee.
Secretary - Keeps minutes of each Board Meeting, provides copy
to Board President for inclusion in board packet, posts a copy on the bulletin board for the Co-op membership; performs all Board related correspondence.
Treasurer - Keeps financial records, disburses monies, reports current financial standing of the school at each Board Meeting, provides copies of same to Board members, represents Co-op Board to Finance Commission of Church, presents reports of Assistant Treasurer and Fundraising Treasurer to Board.
Personnel - Assists Director in interviewing & hiring of staff & in staff evaluation; responsible for annual evaluation of school program; reports results of program evaluation to Board.
Parent Services - Involves parents in the school through School Committees and Fundraising Committees; oversees parent performance of duties; reports to Board on Education Committee plans
Marketing - Publicizes the Co-op School throughout the year; reports work of Marketing Committee to Board.
Fundraising Supervises Fundraising Committee, coordinates school sales of t-shirts, wrapping paper, cookie dough, Handbook ads, etc. Reports to the Board status updates from Silent Auction and Carnival chairs.
Board Committees: Chairs of these committees report to the Board through their designated Board Member but do not vote.
Assistant Treasurer - Collects tuition and registration, notifies parents who are in arrears with payments, collects fines, provides monthly status report to Treasurer and Director.
Fundraising Treasurer - Collects & disburses monies from all sales events; prepares monthly report for Board; reports to Treasurer.
Alumni Relations - Responsible for communications with Co-op alumni families; reports to President.
Capital Campaign - Responsible for overall operation of Capital Campaign; reports to President.
Silent Auction Chair - Coordinates Silent Auction and reports to Fundraising Chair.
Carnival Chair - Coordinates Carnival and reports to Fundraising Chair.
Educational Director - Attends and participates in Board Meetings but does not vote; attends Leadership Council Meetings of church; purchases equipment and supplies; supervises teachers and school secretary; screens teacher applicants; holds parent orientations; publishes Handbook; handles public relations and registration; responsible for meeting state licensing standards in day-to-day operation of the school; delegates suggestions and concerns to appropriate Board Members.
Board Representatives - One Board Member is designated from each class to communicate between parents and the Board by answering parent questions; transmitting parent concerns, questions, and ideas to the Board; polling parent opinion when requested; conveying messages and welcoming new families.
Board-Class Liaisons - One or two parents from the youngest age levels in the school may be recruited early in the fall to serve without a vote as liaison between the Board and these classes.
Church Representation: The following positions are filled by Northaven Church:
Church Liaison - Represents the Co-op Board on the Leadership Council of the church.
Church Member-at-Large - Communicates between Co-op Board and church.
Education Minister - Serves as advisor to Board and liaison to church. Non-voting.
