History
Northaven Co-operative Preschool and Kindergarten has been in existence since 1969. It was started by a group of mothers interested in an alternative, quality preschool that was different from others they had found in Dallas. The parents whose children are enrolled in the school operate the Co-op.

The Organization The teachers at Northaven Co-op have broad experience in early childhood education. Our teachers are dedicated to learning experiences, and to the enthusiastic sharing and enjoyment of knowledge.

Accreditation
Early childhood program accreditation means that:
- This program has voluntarily undergone a comprehensive process of internal self study, invited external professional review to verify it is in compliance with the Criteria.
- Accreditation by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs means this program meets the criteria developed from an extensive self-study based on the Academy's Criteria for High Quality Early Childhood Program .

Northaven welcomes parents of prospective students to visit the school and observe the Northaven learning experience. Northaven Co-op is entirely self-supporting. The commitment of the co-op parents to the day-to-day learning experience keeps tuition affordable.
