The Northaven Co-op Preschool asked parents to paint pumpkins for the annual Great Pumpkin Carnival. One of many of our talented painters, Carli Scroggins, painted a glow-in-the-dark green pumpkin covered in dots. She was inspired by the famous contemporary Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. In her book, Yayoi writes that she has always loved pumpkins and likes to cover them in dots. When Yayoi was a child, she picked a pumpkin and it talked to her!
After listening to her book Covered Everything in Dots and Wasn’t Sorry, our students were inspired to cover their pumpkins in dots. We hope you enjoy their creations.
