We talked about measurement this week. We began our study by reading Mo Willems’ latest book, Are You Big? We were busy with our rulers measuring the width of a starfish, a marker, and our class fish tank. We measured with cut-out feet to find out who was the tallest in our class. Playing the game “How Tall Am I?”, we built different characters, and when they were complete, we measured them. The winner was the student who built the tallest. Playing games of chance gives the students opportunities to take turns, enjoy games just for fun, and learn to be a good sport.
