Pretending to be a penguin daddy

What a wondrous penguin world. The Emperor penguins share parenting duties. The male keeps the egg on his feet, covered with fur from his stomach, to keep the egg from the cold. The female spends her time eating to prepare to feed the baby chick. The male penguin takes care of the egg for two months without eating. When the chick is born, the male can feed the chick a milk-like substance for about two weeks before the mother returns.

This was quite a “feat” with the “feet” as our students tried to waddle with an egg on their feet. One student found a solution by placing the egg under his shoe laces.
