Living in Texas, we hope we will have enough snow to build a snowman. Alas, it hasn’t arrived, so today our oldest classes listened to I’m Going to Build a Snowman, written by Jashar Awan, which inspired us to build snowmen in our classroom. We used soap flakes, torn toilet tissue, and water to make our snow dough. We then began to build the snowman’s body, rolling our snow into three different-sized balls. We found rolling the balls and stacking them a big challenge! To make our snowman look just the way we wanted, we chose from a tray filled with all sorts of buttons, carrots, snowflakes, ribbons, mini pom-poms, hats, and sticks.
